AI In The Event Industry

The “hot word” on nearly every social platform these days seems to be AI. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence and is more deeply defined as the progress in technology to be able to complete tasks that would previously need human intelligence to be properly fulfilled.

AI can be a controversial topic. There are concerns over privacy, job replacements, etc but its hard to ignore its many benefits being used across the board at this point as well. So where does this fit into the Event Industry? Or does it fit at all? Lets take a deeper look into some of the creative uses leading experts have found.

Data Usage

Optimizing AI in the event industry can look like leveraging the data from past events in new and creative ways to create smarter and more successful shows in the future. This can range from more logistical planning tools such as looking at attendance, staffing and other numbers from past shows to determine catering needs at your next event to larger scale uses such as collecting and summarizing audience feedback from previous shows to provide engaging and helpful content to better connect with your attendees moving forward.

Connection Opportunities

Connecting likeminded or compatible attendees to increase event success and facilitate networking opportunities is another huge benefit of using AI in the event industry. This very technologically driven way of managing attendees and their connections is called the matchmaking algorithm and it is done by analyzing data from customers’ app interactions and profiles to suggest event activities and meeting sessions throughout the show that could spark communication with others who have similar interests or business opportunities.

Creativity
The “creative” aspect of AI is another tool that is becoming increasingly common in the event industry (along with many others across the board). The creative tools available with AI allow you to obtain meaningful, engaging and perfectly curated media content for your event with just the click of a button. This can include social media posts, videos/reels, graphics for pamphlets, and anything else you can think up. This tool makes marketing your event easier than ever and saves you the time that you could put into other parts of your event!

While AI can be an incredible addition to industries all over the world in the aspect of saving time, money, boosting creativity, increasing engagement with customers and more- there are still many ways it can never replace human interaction! The human touch and meaningful conversation through face to face interaction will always be the ultimate source of connection but AI has certainly found its place in the future of events. So, let us know below, how will you use AI in your next show? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
