A Well-Lit Rebrand: Emory Healthcare

emory healthcare

Emory Healthcare is an academic health system in Georgia that serves the greater Atlanta area, including Decatur, Buckhead, Marietta, and more. They operate 11 hospitals and have more than 580 provider locations statewide, with over 3,800 providers on their teams.

Their organization is dedicated to advancing medicine, training caregivers, and supporting patients’ health care needs. The healthcare system recently underwent a rebrand, featuring a new color scheme, and they tapped Technical Elements in to help with a statewide promo event.

Here’s how it went:

  • Executed synchronised lighting design for 32+ locations statewide
  • Delivered custom lighting and equipment solutions
  • Coordinated logistics for each one
  • Adapted as needed with zero issues at launch

What Were The Key Goals of This Event?

Their fresh brand look was designed to communicate their brand’s evolution, signaling a continued commitment to innovation and community support. They had a big vision to launch their new brand, and it involved the lighting design team.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 through 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, Emory Healthcare hospitals, clinics, and local landmarks across the metro Atlanta region and Central Georgia glowed green. 32 locations were simultaneously lit in the new Emory Healthcare green to signal a new era in regional healthcare.

What Were The Challenges This Event Faced?

This was a multi-location experience that required finely tuned synchronization and lighting expertise. A truly unique event that didn’t fit in any box.

With 30+ event sites spread across the city, setting them all up at once was a logistical challenge. Arrangements had to be made with equipment rental partners, like Sunbelt, for on-site generators.

Communication was challenging given the number of participating locations, so it was up to the crew to make it happen once they arrived.

What Was Technical Elements’ Strategic Approach To The Goals and Challenges?

The Technical Elements lighting design team was brought into this event later on in the planning process. We had to immediately begin planning logistics, coordinating with equipment partners, and organizing teams to deploy across the region.

We had crews, equipment, and trucks in place throughout the area, ready for the big reveal. It was a dynamic project that highlighted opportunities for improvement in our labor system and revealed several standout performers.

Our expert skills came in handy to create an interactive and memorable experience, including:

  • Custom Lighting Solutions
  • Logistical Support
  • Provided Equipment
  • On-Site Management

The Results: Event Outcomes and Client Feedback

Lighting up multiple locations across the city simultaneously required significant coordination and teamwork. We’re happy to report that when the event went live at 6:30 p.m., there were zero issues.

All locations were lit up with the new Emory Healthcare green, promoting the rebrand as planned. Even with two locations added at the eleventh hour, we brought their vision to life.
