Technical Elements Acquires Black Label, Launching In-House Scenic & Stage Design

Technical Elements Acquires Black Label

Technical Elements, a full-service event production partner, announced the acquisition of Black Label Design Company, the boutique fabrication and scenic design shop behind some of the most striking custom builds in the Southeast. With the acquisition, Technical Elements is launching a brand-new scenic stage design division and bringing custom fabrication fully in-house.

This means the stage, the set, the signage, and the moment your attendees walk into can now be designed, built, and produced under one roof, by one team, on one account.

What This Adds to the Technical Elements Lineup

Technical Elements has always handled event strategy, design, and production from concept to load-out. The Black Label acquisition extends that capability into the custom-built physical world of an event. As of today, the new scenic division offers:

  • Custom set pieces — purpose-built scenic elements designed for your stage, your brand, and your story.
  • Custom stage decks — staging built to your specs, not pulled off a shelf and forced to fit.
  • Custom environmental pieces — the large-scale builds that turn a ballroom into an experience.
  • Signage — wayfinding, branding, and statement pieces that look like they belong to your event, because they were made for it.
  • Lobby engagement pieces — the first thing attendees see and the first photo they take, designed to make an impression before the doors to the main room even open.

Why Black Label

If you’ve never heard of Black Label, that’s kind of the point. They’re a small, tight-knit crew of makers who built a reputation the hard way — through excellence and serious creative range. They don’t do generic. Every piece is treated like the one thing in the room that people will remember.

That obsession with craft is exactly what made them the right fit. We weren’t looking to bolt on a vendor. We were looking for people who care about the finishing touches as much as our clients do.

Why We Made the Move

The honest answer: our clients told us. Time and again, we’d hear the same thing. They loved having one partner for strategy, design, and production, but custom scenic and stage builds still meant sourcing a separate shop, managing a separate relationship, and hoping the two sides talked to each other.

We saw a gap our clients needed filled, and we decided to fill it properly as a turnkey service rather than another phone number to juggle.

What It Means for You

For the event managers and corporate teams we work with, the takeaway is simple: this is the one-stop shop.

Your custom stage and scenic elements are now designed and built in-house, alongside the production team already running your event. That means one account manager, one source of truth, and one team accountable for the whole picture, from the first strategy conversation to the last piece bolted into place. No translation losses between vendors. No finger-pointing when something needs to change at 2 a.m. on load-in day. Just a single partner who owns the outcome.

It’s the same Technical Elements promise, now with the tools to build the room, not just light it.
