Technical Elements recently acquired Black Label, a custom fabrication shop that brings set design and scenic work in-house (read about the acquisition here). For the conferences, general sessions, and brand activations you are planning, it means one partner can now take your idea from sketch to stage without the back-and-forth.
Below, Black Label CEO Jonathan Amacher (head of the new Technical Elements scenic stage design division) shares what makes his team tick, why Technical Elements was the right fit, and what the move means for your next build.
What makes Black Label unique?
The people involved. Black Label started as and continues to be a circle of friends that has come together to make memories for other people and even us in our own shop. We work hard, we play hard. Black Label is also a place of possibility. Over the years, our skills and abilities have never stopped growing and will continue that way. It’s an ever-evolving environment that still inspires me when I think about the possibilities within our walls and the people inside them.
Can you give us some insight into this new partnership with Technical Elements?
Black Label has made it pretty far on grit and determination. We started with a couple of drills and saws and now have an arsenal of tooling and capability. We see our partnership with Technical Elements as a way to expedite our eagerness to be more creative, provide more capabilities to clients, and expand our ever-growing client book. Technical Elements will be the engine that drives our progress forward and propels us to the next level.
What does this new vision mean for clients?
This news means two things. First, that our current community gets more attention for every build and idea. Black Label will now have the time and capacity to jump into each project full force. Streamlining our own processes will inevitably make us faster and better at getting solutions and ideas out into the world. Second, it opens a can of worms for Technical Elements’ current and future clients. With fabrication in its back pocket, Technical Elements will now be able to expedite and provide top-tier custom set designs and scenic work in-house. We’re looking forward to a smooth, streamlined process for our clients. One house that does it all.
The next time your event calls for a custom stage, a branded scenic element, or a set piece no rental catalog can match, you can call Technical Elements. It all happens under one roof. Fewer vendors to manage. Fewer handoffs to track. One team accountable from concept to load-out.
That is the promise behind “one house that does it all,” and it is now built into everything we deliver.
