Caroline Van Eaton of Trinity Community Partners and City of Refuge is a long-standing partner of Technical Elements. Her organization partners with leaders to strengthen organizations and impact communities for good.
Their organization specializes in connecting those in need with the resources that fill those needs, including anti-poverty, housing-insecure, youth development, and family foundations. Together, we’ve completed multiple events over the years.
Here’s how it went:
- We produced a well-attended event at The Foundry at Puritan Mill
- This was a fundraiser to send teens on a Christian Youth Retreat
- We provided Lights, Audio, Video, and Staging services
- Our team was able to overcome technical challenges on-site, based on individual expertise
- Additionally, we were able to skillfully keep the show on track, even after it was rescheduled
Key Goals of This Event
This was a fundraiser to support underprivileged youth. All funds were donated to send a large group of young people to a Christian youth retreat. This is an experience that would have otherwise not been possible.
As a fundraiser, the key goal was to raise a specific dollar amount, but other key goals included:
- Acquiring new donors
- Increasing awareness of community issues
- Building community connections
- Boosting engagement
- Improving donor retention
Did The Event Face Any Challenges?
This event spanned multiple shows. For two of those shows, there was no dedicated LED tech. But with a diverse and deeply experienced crew, our stagehand was able to step up.
Leveraging their expertise, they built and programmed the walls, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees and clients alike. Additionally, the event was rescheduled, requiring a bit more behind-the-scenes planning and organization by the Technical Elements team.
What Was Technical Elements’ Strategic Approach To The Goals and Challenges?
Our highly-skilled team is multi-functional, possessing a diverse set of skills across departments. This was never more evident than when a stagehand was upskilled and capable of taking the reins, eliminating challenges before they became significant issues.
Pivoting and adapting to challenges like rescheduling live events is just part of the equation. However, this is a skill that comes with the territory of live event production, and we’re eager to rise to the challenge.
The Technical Elements team was brought into this event later on in the planning process. Our expert skills came in handy to create an interactive and memorable experience, including:
- Lighting Design
- Audio Engineering
- Video Production
- Staging Services
Event Outcomes and Client Feedback
The client and the organization were grateful to our teams for quickly pivoting with the reschedule. Special mention was made of the team being quick on their feet to keep the show moving when the LED issues first appeared.
